Emotional Health

What is emotional health? Most of us know what this is, but do we know what it is on a deeper level? Our emotional health is how we feel and react to the world around us. It is the great divide whether we will act properly and lovingly versus exploding into oblivion to get all the emotions out. It is the canvas of every person on how they treat others and how self-centered they are. When we know what emotional health is, we can be aware of how we feel, act, process, then feel, contemplate and process again. Our awareness of our emotional health determines how we correctly process what we feel and not just swiftly act on it or shake it off if we don't understand what's going on.

Emotional health is the foundation of what you feel, how you express it, and how you use your emotional intelligence. For example, have you ever met someone that builds up anger then explosively yells at people? This emotional explosion is not healthy emotional health; emotional health is emotional awareness which often starts with emotional self-awareness. Emotional self-awareness understands what is going on within our emotional world, which helps us realize how we're feeling, why we're feeling that way and if it's justifiable.

An emotional explosion often causes others to fear or dread because of the outpouring of anger that stems from ignorance. Emotional intelligence is the compass to emotional awareness when emotional health is concerned, which enables emotional health to flourish. Emotional intelligence is the emotional equivalent of cognitive intelligence (IQ); emotional intelligence refers to how well you perceive, use, and understand emotions. For example, someone with emotional intelligence knows when they're upset what emotions trigger their emotional responses; emotionally intelligent people know how others feel because they can perceive other emotional states, emotional facial expressions, and emotional body language.

Emotional health is important because we operate and function in our emotional world and not just our cognitive (thoughtful) world. Our emotional mind is where we first process the incoming stimuli from the outside world before they are sent to the cognitive mind to respond or react. Therefore, if emotional health is low, then emotional intelligence is also low, resulting in emotional outbursts, emotional problems, and emotional distress for self and others around them. Contrarily, emotional health can be high if emotional intelligence is high, which helps people express themselves with emotional awareness instead of expressing their emotions with ignorance or lack of understanding.

Emotional awareness affects your emotional health because you can better understand how to express your emotional state effectively. In addition, emotional awareness helps you understand the emotional world around you, which enables you to be more sensitive to emotional nuances, emotional feelings, and emotional self-expression for yourself and others; emotional awareness is the ability to understand your emotions, while emotional intelligence understands other people's emotions (other emotional states).

Emotional health helps us understand our emotional world and how we feel to best process and healthily express things. Emotional awareness opens up emotional potentials for emotional growth, emotional stability, and emotional trust in yourself and others around you. Emotional health is emotional awareness which is emotional intelligence that leads to emotional understanding, emotional expression, and emotional self-control.

Emotional health allows us to use our emotional potentials for emotional security, emotional stability, and emotional trust in ourselves and others around us; it can sense what you're feeling instead of just ignorantly acting on it. Emotional health is emotional awareness which is emotional intelligence that leads to emotional understanding, emotional expression, and emotional self-control.

Emotional health is so important, and it's something that we often take for granted. We need to be emotionally healthy to have successful relationships with others, both personal and professional. And we also need emotional awareness to understand our own emotions and the emotions of those around us. Finally, emotional intelligence allows us to manage our emotions effectively and create positive relationships. All three of these concepts are essential for a happy, healthy life. What have you done lately to work on your emotional health?
